ADHD — Working With Your Brain Instead of Against It

ADHD therapy helps you build systems that fit how your brain actually works, and unpack the years of being called lazy or careless when you were trying harder than anyone knew. Caitlin Goff specializes in ADHD at Tea Time Therapy. For formal testing, we refer to Dr Madison White. Virtual sessions across Massachusetts.

Signs

ADHD is a difference in executive function — the machinery that starts tasks, sequences them, and tracks time. Most adults with ADHD have already tried harder than the people criticizing them ever have. The issue was never effort.

Decades of "you just need to apply yourself" leaves a mark. A lot of adult ADHD work isn’t about planners at all — it’s about unpicking the belief that you’re fundamentally flawed, which is exactly the kind of thing CBT is built for.

External structure over internal willpower. Systems built for the brain you have rather than the one you were told to have. Caitlin also works with anxiety, depression, and emerging adulthood, which tend to travel with ADHD anyway.

Can Tea Time Therapy diagnose ADHD?

We don’t provide psychological testing in-house. We refer to Dr Madison White for comprehensive evaluations — including ADHD, autism, and OCD — and coordinate from there. Every provider we refer to has been thoroughly vetted.

Is therapy useful if I’m already on medication?

Very. Medication can turn the volume down on symptoms; therapy is where you build the skills and unwind the shame. They do different jobs and work well together.
